The lodge will hold up to six guests, which often times makes your group the only ones in the lodge. Our food is special! Jan, our kitchen wizard, will delight you with lots of fresh seafood and her gourmet Alaskan home cooking.
In the summer there's Alaska Salmon and Halibut "big game" fishing. Whether you're a beginner or expert, Doug Wilhite takes pride in his catch statistics and the total fishing experience.

Our fishing gear is first class and is all provided. We use only G. Loomis rods. We will pack and freeze your daily catch for transportation home. We are holders of a US. National Forest Service permit to fish the fresh waters of the
Tongass National Forest.

July, August, and September is our salmon and halibut season in Alaska. Z

A variety of outstanding fishing opportunities exist.

Alaska Wilderness Lodge and Alaska Fishing ExpeditionsCoho salmon are abundant in the salt and fresh water off Prince of Wales Island. We use the 18 ft and 20 ft jet boats to access rivers and estuaries to fly or spinner fish for these chromers.

Alaska Wilderness Lodge and Alaska Fishing ExpeditionsHumpback salmon literally clog some streams. To catch them on light fly rods is very exciting especially when the fish are fresh from the ocean.

Alaska Wilderness Lodge and Alaska Fishing ExpeditionsRainbow, cutthroat trout and Dolly Varden are in most streams and lakes, making it exceptionally fun using dry flies or ultra light spinners.

Alaska Wilderness Lodge and Alaska Fishing ExpeditionsKing salmon are available in the salt water. These fish weigh anywhere from 15 to 50 pounds, and 30 pounders are common. We use a 22 ft dory for the ocean.

Alaska Wilderness Lodge and Alaska Fishing ExpeditionsThe halibut weigh from 30 to over 300 pounds. A 100-150 pound halibut is an "average" catch in our area. The younger ones are the best eating.
